Neat floor pillow alternative:
Instructions are in another language. Perhaps someone out there can translate?

Love those! These aren't the same ones, but I've had these throw pillows on my list for a while:

Looks like they are really just a smaller version of the floor pillows you found.

My husband speaks Russian. I'll see if he'll translate it for us. I'll post the translation when he gets to it!

They are just a big version of the pyramid doors stops- 2 squares sewn together on 3 sides, then pulled so that the 2 opposite seams are lying on top of each other and sew the fourth seam, leaving a gap to turn and stuff. I Hope that makes sense!

I saw very, very similar in "Simple Sewing with a French Twist" by Celine Dupuy. Stuffed with bean bag beans! :)

I'd love these as massive supersize bean bags! I think you can get an online text translator for this. I do it in Thai regularly and back again so I'm pretty sure a Russian one will exist :)

I would just cute 4 equal size triangles and sew them cube-ish style, and hope it works. I think i'll try that next week for my daughters room.

Hi,
I think I may try to hel you with this. The instruction is following:

* 180 x 90 cm of fabric (used for furnitures) with narrow stripes for smaller pillow
* 120 x 240 cm of fabric (used for furnitures) with wide stripes for larger pillow
* sublimation chalk
*long ruller
* styrofoam to fill the pillow
* polyester and silk thread in appropraite colour

Hope it helps :)Enjoy! :D

Amazing! I have what I think is the exact same picture that I pulled from a French magazine called Marie Claire Idees over 10 years ago. Jūlija has the same the instructions on her site as the magazine. The beauty of doing it with one piece of fabric is the way the stripes go around.

I first saw these pillows in the french magazine Marie Claires Idees no 45 Summer 2002. It's actually the exact same photo and in french the text only says that you can make them in all sizes and they look particularly good in stripes. The magazine has instructions, so if anyone is interested in making them, I would be happy to post them a translation. Just leave a comment at www.welovesewing-manila.blogspot.com

This is really lovely! For the big one you need 120x240 cm and for the small one 90x180 cm of upholstery fabric/leather/... Mark the triangles and names of the sides as in the picture. Sewing allowances of 1.5 cm/5/8" are already included. First, stitch together sides A and A1, right sides together. Second, stitch together sides Б and Б1, right sides together. Then stitch together sides (B+B2) and B1, right sides together - but make sure you leave a gap in the middle of it. Turn inside out and fill with polystyrene filler. Close the opening either with hand stitches or with a sewing machine. Voila! :)
