I know my readers are crafty folk and that they will appreciate this giveaway as much as I did when I was asked to review it. I think I was on cloud nine for days.

I definitely recommend visiting the site and especially the blog which has a ton of great ideas and mediums including magnet paper, tattoo paper and metallic sketch pens!
First off I want to differentiate this from the Cricut which IMHO has nothing on the Silhouette. The major difference being you DON'T have to buy EXPENSIVE cartridges which (to me) makes the Cricut cost prohibitive. You have the freedom to create whatever you want. Whatever font you have installed on your computer, you can cut out with the Silhouette machine and your computer.
You can cut images that are 39" long! That's long enough for a life sized birch tree vinyl cutout. Speaking of cutouts you can make your own images! Want to make a silhouette of your family's profiles to frame over the mantlepiece? YOU CAN with the Silhouette (I'm SOOO gonna try that).
And here's another great part. If you want to purchase something from the Silhouette library (which has some GREAT boxes BTW) you can purchase them individually online for only 75 cents a piece. Compare that to Cricut which charges you $60 per cartridge with about 50 images you may or may not want and one font AND you'd have to drive out to the store to buy it.Silhouette also has monthly design plans. For $19.99 a month you can download up to 200 designs of your OWN choosing. That's crazy.

All I had to do was print, punch out and fold. The thing I love most about the Silhouette is that it hooks up to the computer instead of buying cartirdges.
The ability to make temporary tattoos is awesome, but I really like that you can cut out designs that you've created.

I have wanted a Silhouette for a very long time!!! I love the scrapbook possibilities but the glass etching, stenciling, vinyl work, and the list goes on. My favorite project on the site is the glass etching on the fish bowl. I enjoy etching, especially for gifts. People are amazed that you can actually make things like that at home! Keeping my fingers crossed...

My husband and I are having a lot of financial problems and I'm trying to get a craft business started to help out. I think what I like most about the Silhouette is that it's more versatile than a Cricut & it's more cost effective. You're not continually dumping tons of money into the machine make & create different designs.

My sis-in-law has the Cricut, i can't believe how expensive the cartridges are. This one is IDEAL totally!! I have just had my 4 kid and need to get the other Baby books caught up as well as start his. This would be AMAZING to have!!

I looked at the site and wow, there is some awesome stuff that can be done with the heat transfers. And wow, the vinyl decorations and etching stuff is really neat too!
