Coin Purse Tutorial

November 22, 2009

I just might have to try these and post them later on Grosgrain.

Lily is ALWAYS, ALWAYS excited about coin purses. She loves the idea of keeping things tucked away.

I once bought this antique lunchbox and sprayed it fire engine red. You can see it with a dress I made here. Every so often I'd open it to discover old pieces of melted chocolate candy and peanut butter sandwiches. Lily would complain that the box smelled like 'snacks'. I'd call it something more like 'garbage'.

She also has a little froggy coin purse that I bought for a $1 at Joann's Fabric. One day it had A LOT of change in it and we all were puzzled as to where it came from. She took me aside and whispered in my ear that she took some change out of Brian's coin jar and giggled. I know it was a little dishonest but she was so cute about it, I kept her secret anyway.

I think she'd go bananas if I gave her several of these wrapped in beautiful tissue paper for Christmas with various surprises inside of them.

Get the tutorial here at Cotton and Cloud.

These are adorable! I am still thinking about a little purse I want to make for my eldest too, who want something to bring their saved money in when they may buy a little something for it. This might be a cute idea. On the other hand.. maybe for my boy it wouldn't be that perfect. It is a little bit feminine, isn't it? :-)
