DIY Pallet Coasters

June 27, 2013

Isn't this so funny? (I can't find the original source of this image so if you recognize it please let me know) Mini pallet coasters! I think you could make these using popsicle sticks and 1/2" square dowels rods. I recommend cutting off the tips of the popsicle sticks then staining them in various ways. Maybe just use black watered down paint then dab off the excess immediately. Stain others longer to get different variations.
Cut the dowel rods cut to the length of the popsicle sticks then glue the sticks to the dowel rods. You could tie them together with a rubber band (like in the bottom photo) and give them as gifts;-) Adding postage ink stamps like these gives it a more authentic look!

The top photo seems to be posted in loops that never lead to a source. I did find a nice tutorial on how to make the pallet coasters here: http://removeandreplace.com/2013/06/06/how-to-make-a-mini-pallet-coaster-for-your-pallet-coffee-table/

Which I think I may now have to try!
