Dirty Hair Month Day 3: Top Bun

April 18, 2012

Sorry about the temporary site failure yesterday. If you came to the site and saw a 404 error message, I was behind the scenes....freaking out! It was an issue with my new top level domain grosgrainfabulous.com which I have now changed back to grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com and won't change it back until I speak to a web professional. So for now, please use the blogspot address. You probably don't have to do anything different. Just carry on like you normally do.

Moving on! So maybe you missed yesterday's post because of the whole site crashing debacle. Here's day 2! Now, onto Dirty Hair Month Day 3! Do a simple top bun with specially wrapped scarf. See tutorial below!

I am so glad for all of these dirty hair styles! Do you tie your hair back at night or anything special? Do you wash your bangs only once every two weeks too? Any info about this would be great. I am just starting to wash every OTHER day, and it's taken almost two weeks to the point where I feel comfortable doing anything more than a tight bun and all the hair off my face.

@MeghanI don't usually wash my bangs in between washings BUT I have at times washed them separately when my hair is really gross. I just wet them and re-blow dry them. Nothing really special. But it is a good point that if you just wash your bangs, you can give the illusion of newly washed hair;) I think I'll mention that tomorrow! Thanks!

I tried this hair style today but I couldn't get the fabric to stay on my head. I even tried bobby pinning it. With bobby pins it stayed in for about an hour.

@Stephanie KrohnHave you tried snap barrettes?

If you want to use a lot and hide them, you could try tying the scarf in the back of your neck instead and leaving about 6 inches of fabric unrolled and draped over your forehead. Then snap the clips on your headband and hair at the top of your head. Then pull the fabric from your forehead backward again and over the barrettes to hide. Tuck fabric under barrettes.
