Craft 1

February 24, 2011

To make, cover doilles in wallpaper glue, glue them to balloon, pop balloon when dry and...viola. You could also hang one of those IKEA hanging bulbs on a wire like in the photo and have a new original pendant lamp. I'd recommend applying flame retartdant spray and I'd probably stay away from doing this with paper if you're going to make it into a lamp.

Oooo, you could get one of those 3' balloons like I got for Embellish Your Knits Month Day 17 and make a GIANT version. Possibilities!

One of the prettiest uses for doilies I've seen. Thank you for sharing the idea.

The new compact florescent bulbs have little or no heat, so would be perfect for these shades. I am going to make one for my granddaughter's bedroom.

Hello

It's very nice, but I think you meant VOILA not Viola. These two workds in French have a very different meaning.

Um. SO COOL! I'm totally doing this next Winter.

Although, now that I think about it, this would be great year-round in a nursery, screened-in-porch, or dining room. The wheels in my brain are turning... :)
