Flickr Favs: Anda Explosion Part II

More Andas! I keep checking for more. Post your finished frock and I will post it later this week!

I love btryg's choice of fabric and accessories. Looks really perfect for early fall when the temperature is still hot. And CMS's eye popping black and white frock looks just like it came out of White House/Black Market.
Forever and eva's green and white frock looks really great for right now. Summery and lightweight. I could see myself wearing it to a summer block party.

And Farah Makes Stuff  made her dress out of this chic but pricey peacock liberty fabric ($13.95 a yard!). This was her second time around with the dress and I definitely think she got it right this time!

Where is she getting Liberty fabric for 13.95 a yard? That's a steal!

Beautiful! I have had my eye on the Anda for a long time. I even bought the fabric and it's never been sewn. I think now may be the time. Love Frock by Friday! Great tutorial and sense of community.

This is my first time working with bias tape. Now I understand after taking another tutorial, that this technique is to encase the neckline on either side. Should the shoulder seams go straight to the neckline?

kqcrowns,
I might be a little confused by what you mean when you say 'the shoulder seams go straight to the neckline.'

Are you asking if the shoulder seam ends at the neckline? If so, yes.

And yes, the bias tape is to encase the raw edge of your fabric at the neckline and armholes. It's just a neater way to finish an edge rather than simply hemming.

What I do is put the bias tape the front and back pieces BEFORE I sew the shoulder seams together so that you don't have to worry about the sharp turn in the corner where the shoulder seam and neckline meet. That would be hard to sew a continuous piece of bias tape into without having a fold in the bias tape.

I love your blog. Makes me want to attempt sewing. I've only made a quilt, a pillow, and hemmed some curtains. You make it look so easy! How do you find the time with small children?
