If you missed my previous post, see here. I'm starting a new Frock by Friday™ for the month of May.
Taly suggested a really cool free pattern that I am now in love with. The sleeves, the belt, the skirt. I think it's perfect for summer while still being modest. What do you think?

Great dress!!
I love it! I'd love to find fabric like that too...
I love it! Going on vacation next month to Florida and can totally see myself strolling the streets in this!
I think its perfect
I'm totally in!
I love this and would love to play along this time!
I can't wait to get started!
Wonderful! Fabulous choice.
Is there elastic in the hem? I think so. What an interesting idea. But I'd probably leave that out. :-)
Love it!
I saw her link too and loved this one too. Yes, let's do this one!
I LOVE IT!! I can't wait, I'm already thinking of what fabric I have on hand...hhmmm...do you think you could include suggestions for lengthening it a bit? I don't like to reveal that much leg, I still have baby-weight to lose. :)
Love! Perfect!
love it, can't wait!!!
Yes!
I really like it! Any suggestions for the fabric type... just making sure I can use something from my stash.
Love it! I have a fabric I love just waiting for a great pattern. Will definitely play along!
Love it! Love it! Love it! :)
CUTE!
I like that! I think I may try to join this time. Suggestions for lengthening would be great too.
Super cute!
That is an adorable dress, and the fabric is gorgeous. But I don't think I could wear that style. I'll think about it ;-)
Love it!! will definitely follow along this time!!
Ane
Count me in!
Please do this one!!! I love it!
It's awesome! If you decide not to use this one, please share the link!
Oh, how Lovely! Definitely Yes.
I agree! It's so pretty!
I Love it!
Nice dress! Count me in! What's the McCalls dress in your previous post? I really like that one, too.
I see why you're in love with it. Such a pretty dress!
YES! Everything I require--sleeves, modesty, but still cute. :)
I love it! The style is so different from the last frock that our wardrobe will be so much more versitile with this little number! Thanks!
How cute is that! Love it! Did you post the link to the actual pattern and I just completely missed it?
Completely adorable! I'm in!
love it! i'm in!
That's a lovely dress, although I'd probably make the skirt more A-Line, but would love to sew-along!
Can't wait to get started!
fantastic. im in. even though its approaching winter over here it means ill have something for spring. thanks for this.
Well I loved the first one. Hopefully this won't be while I'm gone on a quilting retreat. If so, I will have to work it in after I get back. The buttonholes scare me a little. I have never done one. I am with the others about lengthening it a bit. I am too old for a skirt that short.
wonderful, i love it so,, love the colour, love the pattern,, love it so much :)
I'd love to join in this time. I am very new to patterns and sewing clothes so I hope that I can keep up. I'm also not sure on what kind of fabric to use. I wonder if a linen would look nice?
I'm ready! Let's get started
I like this one so much more than the other options.
Count me in !
This one is great! I will add a few inches on the bottom to make it even a little more modest, but I like the overall shape. Free patterns are the best!
I just looked at your proposed dress on the Bernina website (http://www.bernina.com/3Series/DE/pattern.html) and was very happy to see the pattern comes in a little larger sizes--it looks like it goes up to a European size 46. We can all learn Swiss German too. Yay!
I really like it and am excited to play along this time. A little nervous since it will be my first dress. But ready to give it a go!
I have went to the link to get the pattern for preparation and it says that the file is corrupt...If this is the dress that the sew along will use I wonder if there would be any way of posting the pattern without any copy right issues or if some one else is able to download it if they would not mind emailing me a copy. I really want to join in on this sew along.
-Thank You- Charlotte
I've always been afraid to make clothing for me because women are curvy and it's often hard to get a good fit. But I think I might try it this time now that I've seen how you break it down into manageable steps. Thanks, you're great!
Yes! I love the floral pattern. Can't wait to start!!
Definitely the best of the bunch. I love it!
Yeah nice. I agree about lengthening it as well as I'm tall so it'll be even shorter on me!
Love your frock by friday posts!! Thank you soooo much!
Eek, a bit short for me - all you guys must have great legs to show off... not moi!!! ;) I might make it as an overdress to wear with some linen trousers... otherwise perhaps I'll wait till June.. I'll be watching the posts tho... good luck everyone :)x
I love it! Super cute and great for summer! Hopefully I will finish the frock by Friday this time, instead of it still waiting to be hemmed! LOL
simple and stunning
very cute!
hopefully this will happen after I get back from vacation...if not, I'll just have to catch up somehow!
I love it!
I am so excited!!
great pattern
I'm in! love the pattern!
I'm in,I have been looking for a good dress pattern like this!
LOVE IT!!! I missed the last one, but can't wait for this!
I'm in! Love it!
Yes, I agree, choose this one!
I love it, it's a great choice. Can't wait to try. Try being the key word here in my new garment adventure.
I am so excited! I made three variations of the last (still havn't posted them)! This has given me the push to do more sewing for myself. Thank you!
Would love to participate. I have JUST the fabric.
Do you think if we start tommorow we would be done by Friday ? I've been waiting all days for updates regarding this !Thanks!
That is fabulous! I wanna play too!
Me to! I'd love to play! What week does this start?
Very nice choice! I'm in the middle of copying your "Lawn Frock" (I just can't afford the $88 Shabby Apple wants for it! eek!) but this will be next on my list!
I like the idea posted above to make the skirt a little more A-line. Do you think you could walk us through that? Also, I saw bias tape on the materials list--single- or double-fold, and how wide? Thanks!
I'm also planning on doing an a-line version, it will flatter me more. Plus I checked toe measurements and I think I need to make the dress a bit bigger in the bust and hips, any help is appreciated, however I'm prepared to wing it. I'm super excited and ready to start anytime!
