We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Program to Bring You This Grosgrain Newsbreak

November 7, 2009

Here at Grosgrain, I've always tried to keep my giveaways as simple as possible. To enter, just create a link to that specific giveaway. No fuss, no muss. That is how I intend to keep it, too.

No elaborate hoops to jump through. No commenting, subscribing, following, twittering or button grabbing necessary (but always very much appreciated;)

That being said, It has recently become increasingly difficult to sort apart giveaway links from blog roll links in my searches for entries.

Just to clarify, blogroll links do not count as an entry. Entry links must be either in the body of your blog or stand alone on your sidebar. AND must link to the specific address of the post NOT the front page of Grosgrain.

If you do not link to the specific post I have no way of knowing which contest you entered.

I am only emphasizing these points because I don't want any entries to get lost in the blogosphere.

Simply leaving a comment
(something as simple as "linked" is fine) along with your link makes it much easier to find your entry. Again, this is not a requirement.

There have been many previous winners that did not leave comments, as I'm sure there will continue to be. Leaving a comment simply removes any chance that your link gets lost in the web.

And to draw further attention to winners I will try to periodically post them on my frontpage. Hopefully this will help winners to get in touch with me at grosgrainwinners@gmail.com

Thanks for explaining that further. I'm new to blogging and I'm not sure what I'm doing or what the terms and lingo for things are. My blog is private so I'm also not sure if that eliminates me in the giveaways either. I had no idea of what a blogroll is...thanks for taking the time to explain it.

Hi Kathleen.
Thanks for the directions.
I love your site and have it listed as one of my faves.
