Okay, I happen to think this is pretty genius. Would have never thought to change a coffee table like that.
I bet you could find pretty cheap coffee table at the thrift store.
Would also look good in a hallway leading to a door for putting on shoes.

Oh dang! I see those kinds of coffee tables around all the time. Gives me something to think about.
I would have thought it would be too weak in the middle to support someone's weight. I guess not, though, or nobody would have done it.
What a great idea! I could use a bench by my back door ...
