30 Days of Workout Wear: Day 3

April 1, 2014

Welcome to Day 3 of 30 Days of DIY Workout Wear!
This tutorial comes with a template for the wings which I made myself. You can download the top portion here and the bottom portion here. And if you have a Silhouette machine I also made a Silhouette file to cut it out. You can download it here.
I also made a "Join the party" logo for the front of the top.
I got the inspiration for this top from this ASOS shirt. I'm feeling the music already!
I love how the back shows off the contrasting sport bra that you're wearing. Be sure to stand in the FRONT of the Zumba class so you can show off the best part of this workout wear to everyone!
Take an old thrift store shirt.
Print out the templates I provided above and tape them together. I recommend using card stock but plain paper will also work.
Cut out the black portion of the template and trace onto the back of your shirt. I recommend turning your shirt inside out so that any lines you may have won't show after you are done cutting.
I had to use a brightly colored marker in order to see the marks against the black material. White might also work. I think this top looks best in black or some other dark material.
Once you have it all traced cut out the lines.
Voila! Now, if you want add some artwork to the front with heat transfer material like I did.

I made a shirt almost just like this once and loved it for working out in. Great minds think alike I guess. :) Although I made mine from an old yellow shirt I had on hand. I like yours better in the dark color. Stands out much better.

Just thought you'd like to know that if you click on the "day 2" link it takes you to a porn site.
