I thought some of you sewers might get a kick out of this. This was taken from a 1949 singer sewing manual. You know, surprisingly I can see where they were going with the "when there are urgent housekeeping chores, do these first so your mind is free to enjoy your sewing" but I think they lost me at "Have your hair in order, powder and lipstick put on". LOL!!

I think this is so funny! I learned to sew on my mom's ancient Pfaff, and the feet pushing the pedal in the instruction manual are always impeccably shod in high heels (which, not gonna lie, definitely gave me some unrealistic and quickly abandoned notions of what it means to be a successful sewist/lady person in general). I just got a Brother the other day and the instruction manual shows all the feet wearing house slippers. Oh how the times have changed.
I think my husband would conclude that I'd finally lost it if he came home & I was sewing wearing a dress, heels, and make up while sewing!! LOL
Make It Happen I concur! If I wasn't sewing in my jammies he'd wonder what was up!
I may have to "borrow" this image and mount it in my craft room!
As a person you should know what are your priorities and goals so that it is easier for you to determine and decide when is the time to give up or go on.
