Flickr Favs: Anda Explosion

August 7, 2010

There were so many Andas posted that I thought I MUST do a flickr fav today. If you don't have yours up DON'T WORRY! I'll most likely be posting another one tomorrow.

Isn't it cool to see what other people have done with the same pattern?

I love the Obi Anda that Laurwyn created. I also love the fabric she choose. I think it so fits this frock. And Pigs in Pajamas used a great pink fabric that had a cool embroidered trim at the hem. Plus, no hemming! I wish I could find more fabrics like that.
Living with Punks cut a scoop neck into her frock and used a really cool folklore fabric. And Grow. Cook. Sew. (love that name) made a super sweet red polka dot frock with red bias trim and wore it with a lovely red felt flower.

Just Chic made TWO frocks with sheer material and made an underslip. And I'm really liking thecharlotteletters floral mauve frock. There's something about it that speaks southern summer to me.
I want to tell you how much I love looking at these. I was up all night clicking on Grosgrain flickr to see what new dresses had been posted and the first thing I did when I got on the computer this morning was check to see what you had done.

Keep 'em coming!

The Anda felt like a good easy thing ;) The fabric on mine comes from my Grand Ma's treasure wardrobe! If I remember well, she got it in the 80's...

It's hard to believe these were made from the same pattern. Next "frock by Friday", I'm definitely in. I'm inspired to think original and add a personal touch like these great sewers did. BTW, love this wonderful idea of yours.

What great dresses!! Especially the pink one with the embroidery...I have that exact same fabric in an orange that I'm going to use for the Tara dress. It was a red tag fabric at JoAnn's....I think $2 a yard!

I LOVE the fabric of the first cream one! Fantastic! And I like the belt with it- makes it look more fitted (obviously). Awesomeness!
